For owners living abroad
Your home is here. You are not.
Owning a home in Portugal or Spain from another country is wonderful right up to the moment something needs doing. Then the distance becomes the problem. Aurea is the party on the ground who answers for the property when you cannot be there.
What usually goes wrong from a distance
- Work starts, then stalls, and nobody tells you
- You are asked to approve decisions you cannot see
- Quotes arrive in a language and a format you cannot compare
- Small problems become expensive because nobody noticed them
- You spend your holiday managing a building site
- Nobody has keys, access or authority when something urgent happens
Why owners abroad choose this
- One accountable contact in your time zone conversation, not a group chat of trades
- English, Portuguese and Spanish
- Written scope and price before work begins
- Photographic progress records
- Someone checking the property between your visits
- A digital record of your home you can actually use
How it works when you are not here
- 01
We go and look, properly
A full assessment of the property with photographs and a written summary, so your decisions are based on what is actually there.
- 02
You approve a written plan
Scope, sequence, pricing and responsibilities in writing, in your language, before anyone starts.
- 03
We hold the keys and the accountability
Access, deliveries, neighbours, building rules and the trades on site are all handled by Aurea.
- 04
You get updates, not questions
Regular written progress with photographs. We come to you with decisions already framed, not with problems to solve.
- 05
Everything is documented
A record of the work, materials, warranties and paperwork, so the next owner or the next job starts from facts.
Questions owners abroad ask
- Do I need to be in the country to start?
- No. We can assess the property, produce the plan and agree everything remotely. Many owners only see the work once it is finished.
- How do you get access to my property?
- We agree access arrangements with you in writing before anything begins, whether that is keys held securely, a neighbour, a concierge or a building manager.
- How will I know what is happening?
- Written progress updates with photographs at agreed points, plus one named contact you can message directly.
- Can you look after the property between visits?
- Yes. That is what Aurea Home Care is for: an annual inspection, a maintenance plan and someone to call when something goes wrong while the house is empty.
- Which languages do you work in?
- English, Portuguese and Spanish.
